Weather in Galapagos

Best Season to Dive in Galapagos: Dry Season

The dry season, from June to December is definitively the best season to practice Diving activities. The reason: The Humboldt Current, which is cold, goes to the north of Galapagos due to Southern winds. This make that in Shorelines you have very little precipitations while highlands are kept green and lush. The dry season is appreciated for her blue sky.

Warm Season: The best weather for Snorkel activities

The other season is called warm season, and corresponds to the months from December to May. During this time climate is more tropical with cloudier sky and daily rain. This conditions benefits to Snorkel lovers because of warmer water (between 21°C and 27°C). Don’t think that in Warm Season you’re stay will include less species to discover than dry season. Between the species you’ll be able to observe there are:

  • Marine and Land Iguanas
  • Sea turtles
  • Flamingos
  • white-cheeked pintails
  • Albatross
  • Masked and Blue footed boobies.
